ENGLISH LITERARY CLUB

OBJECTIVE

To journey into the realm of literary art that shapes the inner self, nurtures the creative thirst and sculpts the raw potential of Young Ignited Minds.

The English Literary Club  of  Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology conducted "Reading Relay Marathon" on 6.03.2024. In this literary competition, student participants shared their perspective about the reading challenge given to them.

 English club of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology conducted knowledge sharing session on the topic of   "Ptch Your Book" . Participants shared their experiences of book reading and explained the excerpts from the various books that they read and acquired knowledge. This is a first of its kind session by the english club that emphasized on book reading importance and benefits to students.

Spoken word poetry workshop was conducted by English Literary Club of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology on 25th July, 2022 in Library Presentation Hall.

Hermosa Energia is an event conducted by English Literary Club of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology on 16th and 17th March, 2022. This event is related to different contemporary topics discussion related to women and many girl students from different disciplines of the institution were participated. 

 

English Literary Club has organized LITERARY FEST 2019 on 5th July, 2019.  Mr.Balanarayan.G, General Manager, Human Resources, TCS was the guest and has delivered a talk on “LEADERSHIP SKILLS”. Quiz Debate, Jam, Elocution and Essay Writing competitions were conducted for the participants.

English club  has organized Creative Writing, Shipwreck, Stress Interview, Monoacting, Just A Minute, Stand-up Comedy on the eve of WOMEN'S DAY on 8th March, 2019.   Ms.Roviena Jonathan , Entrepreneur, Motivational speaker and a wild life photographer shared her journey of success to students.

English Literary club  has organized a guest talk by Dr.N.S.R Ayengar, retired English Professor of Berhampur University on the topic of "LIFE AND LITERATURE"  on 31st January, 2019 in MEGA CLASSROOM. Students are benefitted with the knowledge shared by the esteemed resource person.

The English Literary club has conducted “Literary Fest” on 20thJuly, 2018  . Debate, Literary quiz, Mono acting, Ship wreck and several other events were conducted. Ms. Rebecca, renowned Video Jockey and a dentist by profession, Mr. Matt, Regional Head, Oasis India were the jury for the events.

LITERARY FEST 2018

Ms.Jyotsna, author of several bestselling books motivated students to become successful writers. Renowned Singer Malavika, another guest for the event distributed prizes and medals for the winners.

English literary club organised a guest lecture on " Plan your work, work your plan" for the III year students of Computer Science and Engineering on 3rd July 2017.  Mr. Suresh a renowned Toast master and an entrepreneur, living in Saudi Arabia addressed the students and delivered an inspiring speech, he taught them how to improve their communicative skills and face interviews.

Mr.Hugh Conan Doyle, the renowned stand up comedian and speaker gave a motivating lecture for the Club students at our University on 24th Feb 2017. 

On 27th August 2016, a certificate course on English titled ‘ECSTASY’ has been inaugurated at our campus by Literary Club. Dr.Avinash.M of the Department of English conducts the course which focuses on enhancing Communicative skills and Soft skills of the Scholarship students of our University.

The first meeting of the ELC club for this academic year was set on track with the event "Debate" on 26th June 2014
