COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CLUB
Student’s holistic development is the principle of Community Development Club. The club inculcates the spirit of service among young minds.
OBJECTIVES
- To inculcate the spirit of service among students
- To motivate students in perceiving the unrelenting life styles
ACTIVITIES
CDC club of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology conducted outreach program on 14th March, 2023. Students distributed Health and Hygiene kits under the implementation drive of "Madugai -The strength" project directed to boost the health of higher secondary girl students. This program is conducted in the Sathyabama Adopted School , GHSS Semmencherry.
Community Development Club of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology has conducted "Peculiar Gen Z" - A Mental Health improvement session on 7th January, 2022.Dr.Parveen Banu, Expert from the Psychological Counseling and Support Centre of the institution addressed students in an interactive manner.
Community Development club has visited adopted schools in Perumattanallur, Vandalur and Mannivakkam villages on 18th February, 2020. Our Students enlightened school children on the topic "Using technology in learning subjects" , "Significance of Women Education" , and "Healthy Mind requires Healthy Body - importance of physical education".
The Community development club conducted awareness campaign on "Using social media smartly", "Reducing wastage of food" and "Mosquito caused diseases and preventive measures" to Asthinapuram, Nallambakkam and Kumizhi school students on 13th August, 2019.
Community Development Club visited our institution adopted school in Asthinapuram on 5th July, 2019 and educated school children in the awareness program on CANCER. The school children were taught to adhere to healthy life style and prosper in life though interactive sessions and in play way method.
Community Development club has organized a Gender Sensitization Program in the adopted school of Puzhudhivakkam on 13th March, 2019. Many school students were trained about the theme of the program.
CDC club has conducted a seminar on "EVERY BLOOD DROP COUNTS" on 19th February, 2019 by Mr.Iniyavan from URAVUGAL TRUST.
Community Development Club has visited our adopted school "Panchayat Union Primary School" in Manivakkam village and trained students in mathematics and personal hygiene.
Students of community development club visited adopted schools of the institution, Panchayat middle school thenmelpakkam, sinngaperumalkovil ,katangulathur in kanchepuram District, Panchayat Middle School, Nallambakkam on 12/7/2018 . The students delivered talks on self respect and girls safety. Students conducted various activities related to mathematics ,singing , English and Moral Stories to the school kids.

The Club Students celebrated Womens' Day on 8th March 2018 by inviting the women from Semmenchery village. Ms. Nithya shree, Vice President, World Community Service Centre gave a motivational talk to the audience.
The Community Development Club organized an "Awareness programme on Organ Donation" in association with MOHAN Foundation for the second year students on 14th February 2018.
The Community Development Club students of SDC visited the Panchayat Union Primary School at Otteri and conducted drawing competition, elocution and recitation as part of the 69th Republic Day celebration
CDC students visited Panchayat Union Middle school at Nallambakkam on 21st August 2017 and spent time with the kids talking about the Luxury of freedom. Later they distributed sweets to the kids.
The CDC students created Road Safety awareness by using posters on 28th July 2017.
The CDC students of Student Development Cell carried out campus clean activity on 26th July 2017.
On 13th February Dr.Kishore and Mr.Kamalesh gave an orientation programme to the first year CDC students on "How to be service minded?"
Community Development Club students visited the schools in Nallambakkam, Asthinapuram and Karapakkam on 9th Feb 2017 . An awareness programme about the harmful effects of junk food was given to the school children.

On 16th March 2015 the club members took an initiative to conduct a program for the drivers of our University on safe driving.

Community Development club of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology has conducted "Waves of Wisdom" - An environmental awareness session by Mr.Melbin Robin, Environmentalist and Alumni on 23.06.2023. An emphasis on the importance of protecting nature is shared by the speaker and inspires the students with his works related to nature in coastal Tamil Nadu.
