DEBATE CLUB
OBJECTIVES
- To promote the art of debate and eloquence of speech among students
- To provide a significant training ground for the development of students’ communicative abilities.
- To create learning situations in which students develop proficiencies based on sound educational and communication theories.
- To understand and communicate various forms of arguments effectively in a variety of contexts.
- To generate effective critical thinking into primary issues in a given topic.
- To realize the simultaneous opportunities for leadership and group participation.
ACTIVITIES
Debate club of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology conducted an event titled "Dialectic Duel" on 12.04.2024. Students exhibited their oratory skills and participated in this competition enthusiastically.
DEBATE Club of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology conducted First National Policy Debate Competition on 3rd April, 2023. Students from various colleges participated and debated on policy framing related issues .
The Debate Club organized 3rd National Online Debate Competition on 24th January,2022 on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day Celebration. Student participants presented their points vividly on various contemporary topics.
Debate club has organized “Online Debate Competition” on 10th July, 2021. This event is conducted in association with School of Law, students participated with enthusiasm and interest.
Debate club organized ‘Tamil debate competition” on 1st March, 2021. Student participants debated with enthusiasm and their oratory talent was presented.
The Inaugural debate of the newly inducted DEBATE CLUB took place in Presentation hall on 16th July, 2019. Student participants debated on the topic of "Influence of Video Games on people in the society". Students from two versions of the topic debated, where the debate was very thoughtful, ignited the participants and audience with the worthy points shared by both sides.
