The Urban Thinkers Campus (UTC) 9.0
The Urban Thinkers Campus (UTC) 9.0, is conceived as a part of World Urban Campaign (A UN-HABITAT Initiative) as an open forum for critical exchange between urban researchers, professionals, and decision-makers who believe that urbanization is an opportunity and can lead to positive urban transformations. It is meant to contribute to the implementation of the New Urban Agenda. The theme for this year’s UTC 9.0 is #housingmatters.
The New Urban Agenda, adopted at the UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III) in Quito, Ecuador on 20 October 2016, was endorsed by the UN General Assembly on 23 December 2016. It's an action-oriented document mobilizing Member States and stakeholders for sustainable urban development at the local level. Implementation contributes to localizing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and achieving various Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 11 on inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities.
