Dr. Amutha Monica J - English

Dr. Amutha Monica J. presently serves as the Head of the Department of English at the Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She has over sixteen years of teaching experience in educating higher education students. She has completed her doctoral research in 2017. Her scholarly contributions include numerous articles published in peer-reviewed journals and established international publications such as the Asian Journal of Women's Studies (Taylor & Francis), Routledge Publication, and the Journal of Language and Literature (Azerbaijan) etc.

  • 1 year as Guest Lecturer in Bharathi Women's College, Autonomous, Chennai

  • 1 Year as Lecturer in Prince Shri Venkateswara Arts and Science College, Gowrivakkam

  • 16 years as Assistant Professor, Department of English, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology.

Achievements
  • ·         She organizes various seminars, workshops and other cocurricular and extra curricular events on for the students of BA & MA English.

  • ·         Conducted International FDP for consecutive 4 years with over 300 participants for each FDP.

  • ·         Arranged various Guest talks comprising expert speakers from various industries and academia.

  • ·         Arranged outreach programme and Industrial visits to governments schools and other industries like press and media houses.  

  • ·         Conducted Interdepartmental Music Fest’23 for Sathyabama Students

  • ·         Introduced an International Certificate Course in Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages by signing an MOU with Westminster College, London and over 60 BA and MA students and Faculties of SIST and other institutions across continents have successfully completed the course.

  • ·          Prepared the Dept’s 1st student for Erasmus + programme and successfully sent the student to Poland for a full semester with 100% scholarship.
