Research Lab
The objectives of Research Lab are to facilitate high quality original scientific research in Computer Science and Engineering, to promote and develop basic and applied scientific research in a laboratory setting, to support ongoing research projects by providing logistical and operational assistance, scientific advisory and training. It also provides custom laboratory services in software product developments.
Programming Lab
Computer Programming Lab has been set up with the objective to solve simple problems with operators, programs on conditional control constructs, programs on loops (while, do-while, for), programs using user defined functions and library functions, programs on Files, arrays, matrices (single and multidimensional arrays), programs using DMA, programs on strings, structures.
Virtual Computing Lab
The Virtual Computing Lab (VCL) allows faculty and students to remotely access software applications that are not installed on their personal computers. The main benefit is the ability to run these programs "anywhere, anytime", off-campus or on campus, with 24/7 access, and without the need to visit an on-campus computer lab. Students can use the VCL from anywhere provided they have an established and reliable internet connection.
Data Science Lab
The Data Science Lab provides fully dedicated high-speed computational resources in support of the Institute’s analytics educational programs, and for doctoral research in selected areas of Computer Science focused on big data.Our practicum teams work on challenging problems with data requirements typically scaling between 0.5 and 2.0 terabytes. Due to data security and governance requirements, the Institute maintains its own computing infrastructure.
Cloud Computing Lab
The objectives of establishing the Cloud Computing laboratory is to perform experiments related to the following areas using programs, tools and simulation techniques.The laboratory will be used to build programs to implement the following algorithms, test the programs and conduct the experiments by using real-time data.

Smart Classrooms
The classrooms are well designed rooms to incorporate everything needed for a pleasant learning atmosphere. The wide spacious classrooms contain a white board, a smart board and a projector that is used for teaching. Hence, a professor can switch to different modes of teaching which may not be monotonous and the lectures are put across in the best way possible.
The usage of Hi-Tech equipment enables our faculty to conduct classes in a way that enable students to make use of every available resource from one at the click of a button. These classrooms are also often used for seminars and events from time to time.
Internet Facility
We have dedicated Internet Leased line of 500 Mbps (Service Provider: Reliance JIO) and a redundancy link of 100 Mbps (Service Provider: 100 Mbps), connected to all the terminals throughout the Campus. Students and faculty are free to access internet . This helps the students to prepare papers on the latest technologies to be presented in various symposiums and seminars.
Interested students who are willing to go abroad for further studies can take up tests such as GRE and TOEFL, take up online mock test and also browse through websites of various universities and centres of higher education around the world. The access speed enables the Students and Staff to download and upload files at a fast rate. The entire network is well-protected by firewalls and managed switches. The department deploys Wi-Fi routers throughout the campus to enable Wi-Fi access for the students and faculties.

Mr. Kishore Kumar N has attended the International Space Workshop and Conference as part of Youth Fest 2018 – Russia organized by Gagrain Research and test Cosmonaut Training Center and Prostocosmos to represent India and Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology.
Mr. Kishore Kumaar N has delivered a talk on “Machine learning and IoT in future space” on November 13 2018 in Gagrain Research and Test. He also got the privilege to meet the astronauts during their time of their examinations for the physical test of going to space and staying there for 1 and half year. He got chance to visit the anti-gravity room and get trained with them.
Our CSE student Mr. Deva Prasad won the Runner up award in “DELL CAMPASSADOR” which is an year long “ All India Level” Contest conducted by DELL for the Engineering Students across the Country. Mr. Vamsi Pulikonda from our institute secured the 6th place. SATHYABAMA was awarded as “College of the Year” based on the performance of our students.
Mr. Shaik Saif Ali has been selected as the Dell Ambassador. Dell Campassador Programme is all India youth engagement programme having year long challenges such as Dell Human Chain, MY PC MY Story Contest, Big Idea contest, Dell Design Wars, Dell PC Literacy Day and lot more. He has been ranked All India #4 in the Dell Campassador Programme.
Every course allows students to prepare and present any technical or non-technical topic as a seminar inside or outside the part of the curriculum. Student Seminar Presentation enables students to bring out their communication skills, leadership qualities and talents.

Project Exhibition is conducted every year by the students. A committee consisting of Head of the Department, Panel Members and Project Coordinator are responsible to identify the merits and hence decide the best project for the respective years. Based on the innovation and presentation, a committee will suggest Best 5 projects from each department for presentation in the project exhibition called “Technovation”. Best 3 projects will be awarded with cash prize along with appreciation certificate.

Sathyabama has organized various technical events such as coding of Python, C, C++, Picto Quiz, Quiz and Photoshop under Inficodec on 18th& 19th March 2019. Students were motivated to participate to bring their talents and prove their ability. Cash prizes and certificates had been awarded to honor the winners. CSI chapter has more than 20 active student members, who play a major role in organizing events related to latest trends and imparting knowledge.

CSE Club of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology has conducted a workshop on "Python for Data Sciences instead of Machine Learning" on 12th March,2020. Mr.Nirmal Saravanan, SOFTWARE DEVELOPER from HEXAWARE has trained the students on the theme of the workshop.
Event on Computer Vision based Artificial Intelligence conducted by India Book of Record and Daggubati Sujay of computer science department won the first prize.
The Google Student Club Sathyabama University organized two days Workshop on Arduino Uno on 29th Feb 2016 and 1st March 2016 for the undergraduate students of Faculty of computing. The Students were explained about the concepts of Robotics and they were able to make their own line following Robot. A small competition was held at end on the same and top three teams were awarded with merit certificates.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Computing in association conducted a Three days Technical workshop on “Artificial Intelligence and Analytics” from July 7, 2021 to July 9, 2021. 300 participants attended the workshop on all three days. The Guest speaker for the workshop was Mr.Buddha Deb Ray, Senior Developer, Cognizant. The Three days sessions were completely engaged. The Trainer made the students to work on the Tensor Flow with few case studies. The entire Workshop was very informative and the hands-on given for data visualization was interesting. The expert Mr. Buddha Deb Ray - Senior Developer, AI Cognizant, sharing his knowledge on Artificial Intelligence Technologies.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Computing in association with iMarticus Learning-Data Science Club conducted a 3 Days Technical workshop. The Guest speaker, Mr.Kumar Sundram, Data Scientist explains the different kind of plots that can be visualized using Tableau.on “Data Visualization using Tableau” from July 14, 2021 to July 16, 2021. Nearly 180 participants nationwide had registered and almost 155 participants attended the workshop on all three days. The Guest speaker for the workshop was Mr.Kumar Sundram, Data Scientist. The Three days sessions were completely engaged.The Trainer made the faculties and students to work on the Tableau tool with few case studies.The entire Workshop was very informative and the hands-on given for data visualization was interesting.

The industrial experts are invited. They enlighten our students on latest developments relevant to their field of study. This gives them updated knowledge, keeps them abreast of latest technology and motivates them to excel in their field. Having framed an industry oriented curriculum, every semester industry experts (in that specific area) are identified and requested to deliver not only the guest lecturers but also hands on training for our students.

Faculty of Computing organized a Power Lecture on 8th September 2016 by Mr. Jayakumar Kapali,Chief ExecutiveDirector - Technical and Projects at IndiaDirect Web Services Limited, Chennai on topic "Network Security". REDHAT RHCSA – Certfication Exam @ Sathyabama
Our students are sent for Semester Abroad Programme and Internships to various universities abroad. So far 4 batches of students have taken up semester abroad programme in Asia Pacific University, Malaysia; one student did his internship in Stevens University, USA. Students from other University also visit us as a part of student exchange programme.
Students from Pre-final Year of Computer Science Engineering and Pre-final Year of Mechanical Engineering participated in Internship at Stevens Institute of Technology, USA from June 2017 - July 2017. They completed their internship courses on Data Analytics and 3D Printing at Host University.
III year CSE student Anurag Kumar, and IV year CSE students, Karthik Reddy and Viswas Puli are undergoing Spring internship in the University of Texas at Dallas, USA in the months of January /February, 2020.
Students from Pre-final Year of Computer Science Engineering and Pre-final Year of Information Technology participated in Semester Abroad Programme at Asia Pacific University, Malaysia from October 2018 - February 2019. They completed their odd semester for the Academic Year 2018 - 2019 in Malaysia.
Students from Final Year of Computer Science Engineering and Final Year of Electronics & Communication Engineering participated in Internship at the National University of Singapore, Singapore in June 2019.
Joshua Rodigues and Nachketh Raju at University of Texas Dallas, Internship abroad program in July 2019.
Student Exchange Programmes
Summer School certification programme for the students of Ahmad Dahlan University, Indonesia on “Cloud Computing” as part of Student Exchange Programme from 30th June 2017 to 15th July 2017.
Faculty Exchange Programmes
Dr S. Murugan and Mr R.Sethuraman, from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering,School of Computing handling classes for the Post Graduate and Research Students at the University of Mendoza, Argentina under faculty exchange programme for a period of two weeks. (b) The faculty members made a detailed presentation about our Institution in the initial meeting held with the President, Vice President and the Deans of the University.The University representatives were impressed with our Institution's activities and expressed their willingness to have more collaborative activities with us in the future.
The team constituting Dr. B. Bharathi, Dr. S. Vigneshwari, Dr. S. Ashok Kumar, Dr. R. Subhashini and Dr. A. SivaSangari from Department of Computer Science and Engineering represented the Institution for conference GCMT’ 2018 at Asia Pacific University, Malaysia.
Dr.A. Jesudoss , Associate Professor from CSE deparment visited Daffodil International University, Dhaka, Bangladesh as part of Faculty Exchange programme from 30th Semptember to 4th October 2019.

Dr. Ling Tok Wang, Professor, National University of Singapore, offered course to III year students on “Advanced Databases” from 27th April to 1st May 2017.
Dr. Jakir Hossen, Professor, Computer Science, Multimedia University, Malaysia on “Soft Computing Techniques” from 2nd Sep 2017 to 30th Sep 2017.
Professor Wilson M Faria from UNIS, Brazil has conducted one week hands-on workshop on "Soil Data Science: Mapping and Analysis" from 27th January,2020 – 1st Feb, 2020 for the CSE students of Sathyabama Institute of Science & Technology as a part of Faculty Exchange Programme.

Our students have attended Summer School on Machine Learning, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence at University of Texas, Dallas,USA in the month of June/July 2020 through International Research Centre, Sathyabama.
