Chess Club:
Objectives:
1. To impart knowledge on origin and trends in the game of chess
2. To teach and practice fundamental rules and tactics chess
3. To prepare students for competitive environments of the game
Activities:
Chess club of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology conducted a tournament titled "Chaturanga" on 08.04.2024. Numerous students participated in this tournament.
Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology “Chess club” has organized inaugural awareness webinar on 10th August, 2022 at 5.30 P.M. Mr.R.Subramanian, Arbiter ( Dubai), The international rated player has delivered the tactics in playing chess with different openings and strategies information to students.
Chess club of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology conducted an orientation session on 14th February,2023. The orientation session is conducted in peer to peer learning mode by the office bearers of the club to the student participants. The international rules of playing chess were discussed using visual aids to the participants.
